Psalms 89:3

Context

89:3 The Lord said,¹

“I have made a covenant with my chosen one;

I have made a promise on oath to David, my servant:

105:25 He caused them² to hate his people,

and to mistreat³ his servants.

Psalms 116:8

Context

116:8 Yes,⁴ Lord,⁵ you rescued my life from death,

and kept my feet from stumbling.

¹tn The words “the Lord said” are supplied in the translation for clarification. It is clear that the words of vv. 3-4 are spoken by the Lord, in contrast to vv. 1-2, which are spoken by the psalmist.

²tn Heb “their heart.”

³tn Or “to deal deceptively.” The Hitpael of נָכַל (nakhal) occurs only here and in Gen 37:18, where it is used of Joseph’s brothers “plotting” to kill him.

displaying	set the max displaying in one page.	"20" will set displaying max to 20 per page
range	set searching range	"All Bible", "Old Testament", "New Testament"
