Context

31:22 I jumped to conclusions and said, 1 

“I am cut off from your presence!” 2 

But you heard my plea for mercy when I cried out to you for help.

Psalms 42:10

42:10 My enemies’ taunts cut into me to the bone, 3 

as they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” 4 

Psalms 88:5

Context

88:5 adrift 5  among the dead,

like corpses lying in the grave,

whom you remember no more,

and who are cut off from your power. 6 

Psalms 109:13

Context

109:13 May his descendants 7  be cut off! 8 

May the memory of them be wiped out by the time the next generation arrives! 9 

1 tn Heb “and I, I said in my haste.”

2 tn Heb “from before your eyes.”

3 tc Heb “with a shattering in my bones my enemies taunt me.” A few medieval Hebrew mss and Symmachus’ Greek version read “like” instead of “with.”

4 sn “Where is your God?” The enemies ask this same question in v. 3.

5 tn Heb “set free.”

6 tn Heb “from your hand.”

7 tn Or “offspring.”
