Luke 24:22

Context
24:22 Furthermore, some women of our group amazed us. 1  They 2  were at the tomb early this morning,

Luke 6:13

Context
6:13 When 3  morning came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles: 4

Luke 21:38

Context
21:38 And all the people 5  came to him early in the morning to listen to him in the temple courts. 6

1 sn The account in 24:1-12 is repeated here, and it is clear that the other disciples were not convinced by the women, but could not explain the events either.

2 tn In the Greek text this is a continuation of the previous sentence, but because of the length and complexity of the construction a new sentence was started here in the translation.

3 tn Grk “And when.” Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

4 sn The term apostles is rare in the gospels, found only in Matt 10:2, possibly in Mark 3:14, and six more times in Luke (here plus 9:10; 11:49; 17:5; 22:14; 24:10).

5 sn Jesus’ teaching was still quite popular with all the people at this point despite the leaders’ opposition.

6 tc Some mss (those of Ë13) place John 7:53-8:11 here after v. 38, no doubt because it was felt that this was a better setting for the pericope.

tn Grk “in the temple.”
