Luke 10:26

Context

Luke 24:45

Context
24:45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures, 7

1 tn Grk “And they.” Here καί (kai) has been translated as “yet” to indicate the contrast.

2 tn Grk “they”; the referent (his parents) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

3 sn This was the first of many times those around Jesus did not understand what he was saying at the time (9:45; 10:21-24; 18:34).

4 tn Or “the matter.”

5 tn Grk “which he spoke.”

6 tn Grk “How do you read?” The pronoun “it” is not in the Greek text, but is implied. Direct objects were frequently omitted in Greek when clear from the context.

7 sn Luke does not mention specific texts here, but it is likely that many of the scriptures he mentioned elsewhere in Luke-Acts would have been among those he had in mind.
