John 16:7

Context16:7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate 1 will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.
John 19:15
Context19:15 Then they 2 shouted out, “Away with him! Away with him! 3 Crucify 4 him!” Pilate asked, 5 “Shall I crucify your king?” The high priests replied, “We have no king except Caesar!”
1 tn Or “Helper” or “Counselor”; Grk “Paraclete,” from the Greek word παράκλητος (paraklhto"). See the note on the word “Advocate” in John 14:16 for a discussion of how this word is translated.
2 tn Grk “Then these.”
3 tn The words “with him” (twice) are not in the Greek text. Direct objects were often omitted in Greek when clear from the context.
4 sn See the note on Crucify in 19:6.
5 tn Grk “Pilate said to them.” The words “to them” are not translated because it is clear in English who Pilate is addressing.
