1 tc The translation assumes that the form in the Hebrew text (מֻצָּב, mutsav) is a corruption of an original מַצֵּבָה (matsevah, “pillar”). The reference is probably to a pagan object of worship (cf. LXX).

2 tn Heb “the people, the officers.”

3 tn Heb “Who is the man who will begin fighting.”

4 tn Heb “forced him with her words.”

5 tn Heb “and his spirit was short [i.e., impatient] to the point of death.”

6 tn Heb “house.”
