Ezekiel 28:7

Context

28:7 I am about to bring foreigners 1  against you, the most terrifying of nations.

They will draw their swords against the grandeur made by your wisdom, 2 

and they will defile your splendor.

Ezekiel 30:12

Context

30:12 I will dry up the waterways

and hand the land over to 3  evil men.

I will make the land and everything in it desolate by the hand of foreigners.

I, the Lord, have spoken!

Ezekiel 44:7

44:7 When you bring foreigners, those uncircumcised in heart and in flesh, into my sanctuary, you desecrate 4  it – even my house – when you offer my food, the fat and the blood. You 5  have broken my covenant by all your abominable practices.

Ezekiel 44:9

44:9 This is what the sovereign Lord says: No foreigner, who is uncircumcised in heart and flesh among all the foreigners who are among the people of Israel, will enter into my sanctuary. 6 

1 sn This is probably a reference to the Babylonians.

2 tn Heb “they will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom.”

3 tn Heb “and I will sell the land into the hand of.”

4 tn Heb “to desecrate.”

5 tc The Greek, Syriac, and Latin versions read “you.” The Masoretic text reads “they.”

6 sn Tobiah, an Ammonite (Neh 13:8), was dismissed from the temple.
