1 tn The Hebrew term is normally used as an architectural term in describing the plan or pattern of the tabernacle or temple or a representation of it (see Exod 25:8; 1 Chr 28:11).

2 tn Or “have been partially a sanctuary”; others take this as temporal (cf. NASB, NIV, NRSV “a little while”).

3 tn The word translated “make” is the same Hebrew word translated as “provide” in v. 6.

4 tn Heb “all flesh.”

5 tn The city of Tyre is described in the following account as a merchant ship.
