4 tn Heb “any evil blemish”; NASB “any (+ other NAB, TEV) serious defect.”

5 tn Heb “your brother” (also in v. 4).

6 tn Heb “you must not hide yourself.”

7 tn Heb “to your brother” (likewise in the following verse). Since this is not limited to actual siblings, “fellow Israelite” is used in the translation (cf. NAB, NASB “countrymen”).

8 tn Heb “and there will be no power in your hand”; NCV “there will be nothing you can do.”
