1 Chronicles 4:41
Context4:41 The men whose names are listed came during the time of King Hezekiah of Judah and attacked the Hamites’ settlements, 1 as well as the Meunites they discovered there, and they wiped them out to this very day. They dispossessed them, 2 for they found pasture for their sheep there.
1 Chronicles 11:23
Context11:23 He even killed an Egyptian who was seven and a half feet 3 tall. The Egyptian had a spear as big as the crossbeam of a weaver’s loom; Benaiah attacked 4 him with a club. He grabbed the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear.
1 tn The Hebrew text reads “their tents,” apparently referring to those of the Hamites mentioned at the end of v. 40. Some prefer to emend the text to read, “the tents of Ham.”
2 tn Heb “and they lived in place of them.”
3 tn Heb “five cubits.” Assuming a length of 18 inches for the standard cubit, this individual would be 7.5 feet (2.3 m) tall.
4 tn Heb “went down to.”
