12:40 Also their neighbors, from as far away as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali, were bringing food on donkeys, camels, mules, and oxen. There were large supplies of flour, fig cakes, raisins, wine, olive oil, beef, and lamb, 1  for Israel was celebrating. 2

Context
20:2 David took the crown from the head of their king 3  and wore it 4  (its weight was a talent 5  of gold and it was set with precious stones). He took a large amount of plunder from the city.

1 Chronicles 20:6

Context

20:6 In a battle in Gath 6  there was a large man who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot – twenty-four in all! He too was a descendant of Rapha.

1 tn Heb “cattle and sheep.”

2 tn Heb “for there was joy in Israel.”

3 tc The translation follows the MT, which reads “of their king”; the LXX and Vulgate read “of Milcom” (cf. 1 Kgs 11:5). Milcom, also known as Molech, was the god of the Ammonites.

4 tn Heb “and it was on the head of David.”

6 tn Heb “and there was another battle, in Gath.”
