Hobah [EBD]

hiding-place, a place to the north of Damascus, to which Abraham pursued Chedorlaomer and his confederates (Gen. 14:15).

Hodijah - majesty of Jehovah. (1.) One of the Levites who assisted Ezra in expounding the law (Neh. 8:7; 9:5). (2.) Neh. 10:18, a Levite who sealed the covenant.

HOBAH [SMITH]

(hiding-place), the place to which Abraham pursued the kings who had pillaged Sodom. (Genesis 14:15) It was situated "to the north of Damascus."

HOBAH [ISBE]

HOBAH - ho'-ba (chobhah): A place "on the left hand," i.e. to the North of "Damascus," to which Abraham pursued the defeated army of Chedorlaomer (Gen 14:15). It is probably identical with the modern Choba, about 60 miles Northwest of Damascus.
