Psalms 83:9

Do to them as you did to Midian ¹  – as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River! ² 

Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,

Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera and Jabin at the torrent of Kishon,

Do to them as you did to the Midianites or as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River.

Do to them what you did to Midian, to Sisera and Jabin at Kishon Brook;

Do to them what you did to the Midianites; what you did to Sisera and Jabin, at the stream of Kishon:

Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the Wadi Kishon,

Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera, As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon,

Do to them as you did to Midian ¹  – as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River! ² 

¹ tn Heb “do to them like Midian.”

² sn The psalmist alludes here to Gideon’s victory over the Midianites (see Judg 7-8) and to Barak’s victory over Jabin’s army, which was led by his general Sisera (Judg 4-5).
