Psalms 7:17

I will thank the Lord for ¹  his justice; I will sing praises to the sovereign Lord! ² 

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I will give thanks to the LORD according to His righteousness And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I will thank the LORD because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I'm thanking God, who makes things right. I'm singing the fame of heaven-high GOD.

I will give praise to the Lord for his righteousness; I will make a song to the name of the Lord Most High.

I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.

I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

² tn Heb “[to] the name of the Lord Most High.” God’s “name” refers metonymically to his divine characteristics as suggested by his name, in this case the compound “Lord Most High.” The divine title “Most High” (עֶלְיוֹן, ’elyon) pictures God as the exalted ruler of the universe who vindicates the innocent and judges the wicked. See especially Ps 47:2.
