Psalms 149:5

Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication! ¹  Let them shout for joy upon their beds! ² 

Let the saints rejoice in this honour and sing for joy on their beds.

Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds.

Let the faithful rejoice in this honor. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.

Let true lovers break out in praise, sing out from wherever they're sitting,

Let the saints have joy and glory: let them give cries of joy on their beds.

Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their couches.

Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.

Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication! ¹  Let them shout for joy upon their beds! ² 

¹ tn Heb “in glory.” Here “glory” probably refers to the “honor” that belongs to the Lord’s people as a result of their deliverance (see v. 4).

² tn The significance of the reference to “beds” is unclear. Perhaps the point is that they should rejoice at all times, even when falling asleep or awaking.
