Psalms 145:4

One generation will praise your deeds to another, and tell about your mighty acts! ¹ 

One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.

One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.

Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts.

Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts.

One generation after another will give praise to your great acts, and make clear the operation of your strength.

One generation shall laud your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.

¹ tn The prefixed verbal forms in v. 4 are understood as imperfects, indicating how the psalmist expects his audience to respond to his praise. Another option is to take the forms as jussives, indicating the psalmist’s wish, “may one generation praise…and tell about.”
