Numbers 10:5

When you blow an alarm, ¹  then the camps that are located ²  on the east side must begin to travel. ³ 

When a trumpet blast is sounded, the tribes camping on the east are to set out.

"But when you blow an alarm, the camps that are pitched on the east side shall set out.

"When you sound the signal to move on, the tribes on the east side of the Tabernacle will break camp and move forward.

When it gives a long blast, that's the signal to march. At the first blast the tribes who were camped on the east set out.

When a loud note is sounded, the tents placed on the east side are to go forward.

When you blow an alarm, the camps on the east side shall set out;

"When you sound the advance, the camps that lie on the east side shall then begin their journey.

When you blow an alarm, ¹  then the camps that are located ²  on the east side must begin to travel. ³ 

¹ tn The word for an alarm is תְּרוּעָה (tÿru’ah). The root verb of this word means “to give a blast on the trumpet.” It may also on occasion mean “give a shout” in battle (Josh 6:10). In this passage it must refer to the sound of the trumpet.

² tn Heb “the camps that are camping.”

³ tn The perfect tense with vav (ו) consecutive functions as the equivalent of the imperfect tense. Here the emphasis is on the start of the journey.
