You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered ¹  from thorns or figs from thistles, are they? ²

You can detect them by the way they act, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit. You don’t pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles.

Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.

By their fruits you will get knowledge of them. Do men get grapes from thorns or figs from thistles?
