Joshua 6:1

Now Jericho ¹  was shut tightly ²  because of the Israelites. No one was allowed to leave or enter. ³ 

Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No-one went out and no-one came in.

Now Jericho was tightly shut because of the sons of Israel; no one went out and no one came in.

Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut because the people were afraid of the Israelites. No one was allowed to go in or out.

Jericho was shut up tight as a drum because of the People of Israel: no one going in, no one coming out.

(Now Jericho was all shut up because of the children of Israel: there was no going out or coming in.)

Now Jericho was shut up inside and out because of the Israelites; no one came out and no one went in.

Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.

Now Jericho ¹  was shut tightly ²  because of the Israelites. No one was allowed to leave or enter. ³
