Psalms 38:6

I am dazed ¹  and completely humiliated; ²  all day long I walk around mourning.

I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning.

I am bent over and greatly bowed down; I go mourning all day long.

I am bent over and racked with pain. My days are filled with grief.

And now I'm flat on my face feeling sorry for myself morning to night.

I am troubled, I am made low; I go weeping all the day.

I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; all day long I go around mourning.

I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

I am dazed ¹  and completely humiliated; ²  all day long I walk around mourning.

¹ tn The verb’s precise shade of meaning in this context is not entirely clear. The verb, which literally means “to bend,” may refer to the psalmist’s posture. In Isa 21:3 it seems to mean “be confused, dazed.”
