Psalms 35:25

Do not let them say to themselves, ¹  “Aha! We have what we wanted!” ²  Do not let them say, “We have devoured him!”

Do not let them think, "Aha, just what we wanted!" or say, "We have swallowed him up."

Do not let them say in their heart, "Aha, our desire!" Do not let them say, "We have swallowed him up!"

Don’t let them say, "Look! We have what we wanted! Now we will eat him alive!"

Don't let them say to themselves, "Ha-ha, we got what we wanted." Don't let them say, "We've chewed him up and spit him out."

Let them not say in their hearts, So we will have it: let them not say, We have put an end to him.

Do not let them say to themselves, "Aha, we have our heart’s desire." Do not let them say, "We have swallowed you up."

Let them not say in their hearts, "Ah, so we would have it!" Let them not say, "We have swallowed him up."

Do not let them say to themselves, ¹  “Aha! We have what we wanted!” ²  Do not let them say, “We have devoured him!”

¹ tn Heb “in their heart[s].”

² tn Heb “Aha! Our desire!” The “desire” of the psalmist’s enemies is to triumph over him.
