Psalms 107:9

For he has satisfied those who thirst, ¹  and those who hunger he has filled with food. ² 

for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.

For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

He poured great draughts of water down parched throats; the starved and hungry got plenty to eat.

He gives its desire to the unresting soul, so that it is full of good things.

For he satisfies the thirsty, and the hungry he fills with good things.

For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

For he has satisfied those who thirst, ¹  and those who hunger he has filled with food. ² 

¹ tn Heb “[the] longing throat.” The noun נֶפֶשׁ (nefesh), which frequently refers to one’s very being or soul, here probably refers to one’s parched “throat” (note the parallelism with נֶפֱשׁ רְעֵבָה, nefesh rÿ’evah, “hungry throat”).

² tn Heb “and [the] hungry throat he has filled [with] good.”
