These were the traveling arrangements ¹  of the Israelites according to their companies when they traveled. ² 

This was the order of march for the Israelite divisions as they set out.

This was the order of march of the sons of Israel by their armies as they set out.

This was the order in which the tribes marched, division by division.

These were the marching units of the People of Israel. They were on their way.

This was the order in which the children of Israel were journeying by armies; so they went forward.

This was the order of march of the Israelites, company by company, when they set out.

Thus was the order of march of the children of Israel, according to their armies, when they began their journey.

¹ tn Or “journeyings of.”

² tn The verb is the preterite with vav (ו) consecutive. But in this sentence it should be subordinated as a temporal clause to the preceding statement, even though it follows it.
