And immediately the man’s ¹  ears were opened, his tongue loosened, and he spoke plainly.

At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.

And his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was removed, and he began speaking plainly.

Instantly the man could hear perfectly and speak plainly!

And it happened. The man's hearing was clear and his speech plain--just like that.

And his ears became open, and the band of his tongue was made loose, and his words became clear.
