Job 28:21

For ¹  it has been hidden from the eyes of every living creature, and from the birds of the sky it has been concealed.

It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing, concealed even from the birds of the air.

"Thus it is hidden from the eyes of all living And concealed from the birds of the sky.

For it is hidden from the eyes of all humanity. Even the sharp–eyed birds in the sky cannot discover it.

It can't be found by looking, no matter how deep you dig, no matter how high you fly.

For it is kept secret from the eyes of all living, unseen by the birds of the air.

It is hidden from the eyes of all living, and concealed from the birds of the air.

¹ tn The vav on the verb is unexpressed in the LXX. It should not be overlooked, for it introduces a subordinate clause of condition (R. Gordis, Job, 310).
