Jeremiah 33:17

For I, the Lord, promise: “David will never lack a successor to occupy ¹  the throne over the nation of Israel. ² 

For this is what the LORD says: ‘David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,

"For thus says the LORD, ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

For this is what the LORD says: David will forever have a descendant sitting on the throne of Israel.

GOD has made it clear that there will always be a descendant of David ruling the people of Israel

For the Lord has said, David will never be without a man to take his place on the seat of the kingdom of Israel;

For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,

"For thus says the LORD: ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

For I, the Lord, promise: “David will never lack a successor to occupy ¹  the throne over the nation of Israel. ² 

¹ tn Heb “a man shall not be cut off to David [i.e., belonging to the Davidic line] sitting on the throne of the house of Israel.”

² sn It should be noted once again that the reference is to all Israel, not just to Judah (cf. Jer 23:5-6; 30:9).
