Judges 20:12

The tribes of Israel sent men throughout the tribe ¹  of Benjamin, saying, “How could such a wicked thing take place? ²

Then the tribes of Israel sent men through the entire tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What is this wickedness that has taken place among you?

The Israelites sent messengers to the tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What a terrible thing has been done among you!

The Israelite tribes sent messengers throughout the tribe of Benjamin saying, "What's the meaning of this outrage that took place among you?

And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin saying, What is this evil which has been done among you?

The tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What crime is this that has been committed among you?

Then the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What is this wickedness that has occurred among you?

¹ tc The MT reads the plural, but surely the singular (which is supported by the LXX and Vulgate) is preferable here.
