Isaiah 26:8

Yes, as your judgments unfold, ¹  O Lord, we wait for you. We desire your fame and reputation to grow. ² 

Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.

Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O LORD, We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls.

LORD, we love to obey your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name.

We're in no hurry, GOD. We're content to linger in the path sign-posted with your decisions. Who you are and what you've done are all we'll ever want.

We have been waiting for you, O Lord; the desire of our soul is for the memory of your name.

In the path of your judgments, O LORD, we wait for you; your name and your renown are the soul’s desire.

¹ tn The Hebrew text has, “yes, the way of your judgments.” The translation assumes that “way” is related to the verb “we wait” as an adverbial accusative (“in the way of your judgments we wait”). מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ (mishpatekha, “your judgments”) could refer to the Lord’s commandments, in which case one might translate, “as we obey your commands.” However, in verse 9 the same form refers to divine acts of judgment on evildoers.
