Isaiah 19:9

Those who make clothes from combed flax will be embarrassed; those who weave will turn pale. ¹ 

Those who work with combed flax will despair, the weavers of fine linen will lose hope.

Moreover, the manufacturers of linen made from combed flax And the weavers of white cloth will be utterly dejected.

The weavers will have no flax or cotton, for the crops will fail.

Textile workers will be out of work, all weavers and workers in linen and cotton and wool

And all the workers in linen thread, and those who make cotton cloth, will be put to shame.

The workers in flax will be in despair, and the carders and those at the loom will grow pale.

Moreover those who work in fine flax And those who weave fine fabric will be ashamed;

Those who make clothes from combed flax will be embarrassed; those who weave will turn pale. ¹ 

¹ tn BDB 301 s.v. חוֹרִי suggests the meaning “white stuff” for חוֹרִי (khori); the Qumran scroll 1QIsa^a has חָוֵרוּ (khaveru), probably a Qal perfect, third plural form of חוּר, (khur, “be white, pale”). See HALOT 299 s.v. I חור. The latter reading is assumed in the translation above.
