Ephesians 2:9

it is not from ¹  works, so that no one can boast. ² 

not by works, so that no-one can boast.

not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

We don't play the major role. If we did, we'd probably go around bragging that we'd done the whole thing!

Not by works, so that no man may take glory to himself.
