2 Samuel 12:5

Then David became very angry at this man. He said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this deserves to die! ¹ 

David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, "As surely as the LORD lives, the man who did this deserves to die!

Then David’s anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan, "As the LORD lives, surely the man who has done this deserves to die.

David was furious. "As surely as the LORD lives," he vowed, "any man who would do such a thing deserves to die!

David exploded in anger. "As surely as GOD lives," he said to Nathan, "the man who did this ought to be lynched!

And David was full of wrath against that man; and he said to Nathan, By the living Lord, death is the right punishment for the man who has done this:

Then David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man. He said to Nathan, "As the LORD lives, the man who has done this deserves to die;

So David’s anger was greatly aroused against the man, and he said to Nathan, " As the LORD lives, the man who has done this shall surely die!

Then David became very angry at this man. He said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this deserves to die! ¹ 

¹ tn Heb “the man doing this [is] a son of death.” See 1 Sam 20:31 for another use of this expression, which must mean “he is as good as dead” or “he deserves to die,” as 1 Sam 20:32 makes clear.
