2 Corinthians 4:8

We are experiencing trouble on every side, ¹  but are not crushed; we are perplexed, ²  but not driven to despair;

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;

we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed, but we don’t give up and quit.

As it is, there's not much chance of that. You know for yourselves that we're not much to look at. We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized; we're not sure what to do,

Troubles are round us on every side, but we are not shut in; things are hard for us, but we see a way out of them;

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;

We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

We are experiencing trouble on every side, ¹  but are not crushed; we are perplexed, ²  but not driven to despair;
