1 Kings 10:1

When the queen of Sheba heard about Solomon, ¹  she came to challenge ²  him with difficult questions. ³ 

When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relation to the name of the LORD, she came to test him with hard questions.

Now when the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with difficult questions.

When the queen of Sheba heard of Solomon’s reputation, which brought honor to the name of the LORD, she came to test him with hard questions.

The queen of Sheba heard about Solomon and his connection with the Name of GOD. She came to put his reputation to the test by asking tough questions.

Now the queen of Sheba, hearing great things of Solomon, came to put his wisdom to the test with hard questions.

When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, (fame due to the name of the LORD), she came to test him with hard questions.

Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with hard questions.

When the queen of Sheba heard about Solomon, ¹  she came to challenge ²  him with difficult questions. ³ 

¹ tn Heb “the report about Solomon.” The Hebrew text also has, “to the name of the Lord,” which fits very awkwardly in the sentence. If retained, perhaps it should be translated, “because of the reputation of the Lord.” The phrase, which is omitted in the parallel passage in 2 Chr 9:1, may be an addition based on the queen’s declaration of praise to the Lord in v. 9.
