But ¹  he sternly ordered them not to make him known. ² 

But he forcefully commanded ¹  them not to tell this to anyone, ² 

He strictly ordered that no one should know about this, ¹  and told them to give her something to eat.

Then someone from the army informed him, “Your father put the army under a strict oath ¹  saying, ‘Cursed be the man who eats food today!’ That is why the army is tired.”

saying, “We gave ¹  you strict orders ²  not to teach in this name. ³  Look, ⁴  you have filled Jerusalem ⁵  with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood ⁶  on us!”

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, ¹  because you know that we will be judged more strictly. ² 

Immediately Jesus ¹  sent the man ²  away with a very strong warning.

Then ¹  he warned them not to tell anyone about him. ² 

“I am a Jew, ¹  born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up ²  in this city, educated with strictness ³  under ⁴  Gamaliel ⁵  according to the law of our ancestors, ⁶  and was ⁷  zealous ⁸  for God just as all of you are today.

Then he instructed his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ. ¹ 

But he sternly warned them not to make him known.

Everyone who does not observe both the law of your God and the law of the king will be completely ¹  liable to the appropriate penalty, whether it is death or banishment or confiscation of property or detainment in prison.”

They ¹  went ²  to the chief priests ³  and the elders and said, “We have bound ourselves with a solemn oath ⁴  not to partake ⁵  of anything until we have killed Paul.

What I say to you I say to everyone: Stay alert!”

“Let me pass through your land; I will keep strictly to the roadway. ¹  I will not turn aside to the right or the left.

For the Lord gave me strict orders, ¹  ‘Do not eat or drink ²  there; do not go back the way you came.’”

Each competitor must exercise self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.

Any creature in the water that does not have both fins and scales is detestable to you.

The Israelites followed the Lord’s instructions to Moses and divided up the land. ¹ 

And the Lord said, “This is how the people of Israel will eat their unclean food among the nations ¹  where I will banish them.”
