But the population 1 of the city was divided; some 2 sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles.
The Israelites did so, and they gathered – some more, some less.
Some were convinced 1 by what he said, 2 but others refused 3 to believe.
It was he 1 who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 2
Some trust in chariots and others in horses, 1 but we 2 depend on 3 the Lord our God.
But other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.
They answered, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, 1 and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
