Calamity ¹  pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous. ² 

We are Jews by birth ¹  and not Gentile sinners, ² 

Then I will teach ¹  rebels your merciful ways, ²  and sinners will turn ³  to you.

My child, if sinners ¹  try to entice ²  you, do not consent! ³ 

If the righteous are recompensed on earth, ¹  how much more ²  the wicked sinner! ³ 

The Lord is both kind and fair; ¹  that is why he teaches sinners the right way to live. ² 

And if the righteous are barely saved, what will become of ¹  the ungodly and sinners? ² 

And if you lend to those from whom you hope to be repaid, ¹  what credit is that to you? Even sinners ²  lend to sinners, so that they may be repaid in full. ³ 

When the experts in the law ¹  and the Pharisees ²  saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” ³ 

(Now ¹  the people ²  of Sodom were extremely wicked rebels against the Lord.) ³ 

For this reason ¹  the wicked cannot withstand ²  judgment, ³  nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly. ⁴ 

Do not sweep me away ¹  with sinners, or execute me along with violent people, ² 

Do not let your heart envy ¹  sinners, but rather be zealous in fearing the Lord ²  all the time.

All rebellious sinners will be shattered, ¹  those who abandon the Lord will perish.

Now all the tax collectors ¹  and sinners were coming ²  to hear him.

But ¹  the Pharisees ²  and the experts in the law ³  were complaining, ⁴  “This man welcomes ⁵  sinners and eats with them.”

And when the people ¹  saw it, they all complained, ²  “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” ³ 

Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner can destroy much that is good.

I have not come ¹  to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” ² 

A benevolent ¹  person leaves an inheritance ²  for his grandchildren, ³  but the wealth of a sinner is stored up for the righteous. ⁴
