The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; 1
And the light shines on 1 in the darkness, 2 but 3 the darkness has not mastered it. 4
From Zion, the most beautiful of all places, 1 God comes in splendor. 2
The sun and moon are darkened; the stars withhold 1 their brightness.
Whatever you decide 1 on a matter, it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.
But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, 1 growing brighter and brighter 2 until full day. 3
That day 1 – let it be darkness; 2 let not God on high regard 3 it, nor let light shine 4 on it!
O God, restore us! Smile on us! 1 Then we will be delivered! 2
he who commands the sun and 1 it does not shine 2 and seals up 3 the stars;
“Arise! Shine! For your light arrives! The splendor 1 of the Lord shines on you!
Smile 1 on your servant! Deliver me because of your faithfulness!
O Lord, the God who avenges! O God who avenges, reveal your splendor! 2
Smile 1 on your servant! Teach me your statutes!
The earth quakes 1 before them; 2 the sky reverberates. 3 The sun and the moon grow dark; the stars refuse to shine. 4
He was a lamp that was burning and shining, 1 and you wanted to rejoice greatly for a short time 2 in his light.
But the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavenly expanse. And those bringing many to righteousness will be like the stars forever and ever.
For God, who said “Let light shine out of darkness,” 1 is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge 2 of God in the face of Christ. 3
if I looked at the sun 1 when it was shining, and the moon advancing as a precious thing,
In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.
“Yes, 1 the lamp 2 of the wicked is extinguished; his flame of fire 3 does not shine.
