When David heard in the desert that Nabal was shearing his sheep,

Tamar was told, ¹  “Look, your father-in-law is going up ²  to Timnah to shear his sheep.”

While Laban had gone to shear his sheep, ¹  Rachel stole the household idols ²  that belonged to her father.

You must set apart ¹  for the Lord your God every firstborn male born to your herds and flocks. You must not work the firstborn of your bulls or shear the firstborn of your flocks.
