The one who believes in him is not condemned. ¹  The one who does not believe has been condemned ²  already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only ³  Son of God.

The Israelites said to Moses, “We are bound to die! ¹  We perish, we all perish!

He remembered his covenant with them, and relented ¹  because of his great loyal love.

So he used suffering to humble them; ¹  they stumbled and no one helped them up.

For the whole law can be summed up in a single commandment, ¹  namely, “You must love your neighbor as yourself.” ² 

They ¹  will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength, ² 

They will face a reckoning before ¹  Jesus Christ ²  who stands ready to judge the living and the dead.
