God repaid Abimelech for the evil he did to his father by murdering his seventy half-brothers. ¹ 

He said to David, “You are more innocent ¹  than I, for you have treated me well, even though I have tried to harm you!

Then ¹  you will be blessed, ²  because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid ³  at the resurrection of the righteous.”

or have wronged my ally, ¹  or helped his lawless enemy, ² 

For the one who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, ¹  and there are no exceptions. ² 

If the righteous are recompensed on earth, ¹  how much more ²  the wicked sinner! ³ 

They had not gone very far from the city ¹  when Joseph said ²  to the servant who was over his household, “Pursue the men at once! ³  When you overtake ⁴  them, say to them, ‘Why have you repaid good with evil?

Or who has first given to God, ¹  that God ²  needs to repay him? ³ 

Now David had been thinking, ¹  “In vain I guarded everything that belonged to this man in the desert. I didn’t take anything from him. But he has repaid my good with evil.

Should good be paid back with evil? Yet they are virtually digging a pit to kill me. ¹  Just remember how I stood before you pleading on their behalf ²  to keep you from venting your anger on them. ³ 

And if you lend to those from whom you hope to be repaid, ¹  what credit is that to you? Even sinners ²  lend to sinners, so that they may be repaid in full. ³ 

Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings, with thumbs and big toes cut off, used to lick up ¹  food scraps ²  under my table. God has repaid me for what I did to them.” ³  They brought him to Jerusalem, ⁴  where he died.

He ¹  said also to the man ²  who had invited him, “When you host a dinner or a banquet, ³  don’t invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors so you can be invited by them in return and get repaid.

They repay me evil for good, ¹  and hate for love.

Calamity ¹  pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous. ² 

God also repaid the men of Shechem for their evil deeds. The curse spoken by Jotham son of Jerub-Baal fell ¹  on them.

May those who wait to ambush me ¹  be repaid for their evil! ²  As a demonstration of your faithfulness, ³  destroy them!

The backslider ¹  will be paid back ²  from his own ways, but a good person will be rewarded ³  for his.

The one who is gracious ¹  to the poor lends ²  to the Lord, and the Lord ³  will repay him ⁴  for his good deed. ⁵ 

Although I trained and strengthened them, ¹  they plot evil against me!
