But what if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects ¹  of wrath ²  prepared for destruction? ³ 

For ¹  wrath kills the foolish person, ²  and anger ³  slays the silly one.

Yes, ¹  we are consumed by your anger; we are terrified by your wrath.

Wealth does not profit in the day of wrath, ¹  but righteousness delivers from mortal danger. ² 

A gentle response ¹  turns away anger, but a harsh word ²  stirs up wrath. ³ 

A gift given ¹  in secret subdues ²  anger, and a bribe given secretly ³  subdues ⁴  strong wrath. ⁵ 

lest the Lord see it, and be displeased, ¹  and turn his wrath away from him. ² 

Wrath is cruel and anger is overwhelming, ¹  but who can stand before jealousy? ² 

Scornful people ¹  inflame ²  a city, ³  but those who are wise turn away wrath.

א (Alef) ¹  I am the man ²  who has experienced ³  affliction from the rod ⁴  of his wrath.

For the law brings wrath, because where there is no law there is no transgression ¹  either.

You must put away every kind of bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and evil, slanderous talk.

Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. ¹ 

because the great day of their ¹  wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?” ² 

You must not bring any abhorrent thing into your house and thereby become an object of divine wrath ¹  along with it. ²  You must absolutely detest ³  and abhor it, ⁴  for it is an object of divine wrath.

But because of your stubbornness ¹  and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed! ² 

A flood will carry off his house, rushing waters on the day of God’s wrath.

What the righteous desire ¹  leads ²  only to good, but what the wicked hope for ³  leads ⁴  to wrath.

The king shows favor ¹  to a wise ²  servant, but his wrath falls ³  on one who acts shamefully.

A king’s wrath ¹  is like ²  a messenger of death, ³  but a wise person appeases it. ⁴
