Wisdom is supreme ¹  – so ²  acquire wisdom, and whatever you acquire, ³  acquire understanding! ⁴ 

Wisdom is found in the words ¹  of the discerning person, ²  but the one who lacks wisdom ³  will be disciplined. ⁴ 

People from all nations came to hear Solomon’s display of wisdom; ¹  they came from all the kings of the earth who heard about his wisdom.

and reveal to you the secrets of wisdom – for true wisdom has two sides ¹  – so that you would know ²  that God has forgiven some of your sins. ³ 

For wisdom provides ¹  protection, ²  just as ³  money provides protection. ⁴  But the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves the life ⁵  of its owner.

So I concluded that wisdom is better than might, ¹  but a poor man’s wisdom is despised; no one ever listens ²  to his advice. ³ 

They are a nation devoid of wisdom, and there is no understanding among them.

Is not their excess wealth ¹  taken away from them? ²  They die, ³  yet without attaining wisdom. ⁴ 

“Without a doubt you are the people, ¹  and wisdom will die with you. ² 

Is not wisdom found among the aged? ¹  Does not long life bring understanding?

“With God ¹  are wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his. ² 

If only you would keep completely silent! ¹  For you, that would be wisdom. ² 

Do you listen in on God’s secret council? ¹  Do you limit ²  wisdom to yourself?

How you have advised the one without wisdom, and abundantly ¹  revealed your insight!

“But wisdom – where can it be found? Where is the place of understanding?

“But wisdom – where does it come from? ¹  Where is the place of understanding?

then he looked at wisdom ¹  and assessed its value; ²  he established ³  it and examined it closely. ⁴ 

I said to myself, ‘Age ¹  should speak, ²  and length of years ³  should make wisdom known.’

So do not say, ¹  ‘We have found wisdom! God will refute ²  him, not man!’

If not, you listen to me; be silent, and I will teach you wisdom.”
