When they went up into the boat, the wind ceased.

So ¹  he got up and rebuked ²  the wind, and said to the sea, ³  “Be quiet! Calm down!” Then ⁴  the wind stopped, and it was dead calm.

By now a strong wind was blowing and the sea was getting rough.

Meanwhile the boat, already far from land, ¹  was taking a beating from the waves because the wind was against it.

But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, ¹  “Lord, save me!”

Then he went up with them into the boat, and the wind ceased. They were completely astonished,

And when you see the south wind ¹  blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and there is.

Suddenly ¹  a sound ²  like a violent wind blowing ³  came from heaven ⁴  and filled the entire house where they were sitting.

Not long after this, a hurricane-force ¹  wind called the northeaster ²  blew down from the island. ³ 

They were overwhelmed by fear and said to one another, “Who then is this? ¹  Even the wind and sea obey him!” ² 

When a gentle south wind sprang up, they thought ¹  they could carry out ²  their purpose, so they weighed anchor ³  and sailed close along the coast ⁴  of Crete.

When the ship was caught in it ¹  and could not head into ²  the wind, we gave way to it and were driven ³  along.

From there we cast off ¹  and arrived at Rhegium, ²  and after one day a south wind sprang up ³  and on the second day we came to Puteoli. ⁴ 

But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind.

and the stars in the sky ¹  fell to the earth like a fig tree dropping ²  its unripe figs ³  when shaken by a fierce ⁴  wind.

While they were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness ¹  to see? A reed shaken by the wind? ² 

He ¹  saw them straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. As the night was ending, ²  he came to them walking on the sea, ³  for ⁴  he wanted to pass by them. ⁵ 

When ¹  John’s messengers had gone, Jesus ²  began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness ³  to see? A reed shaken by the wind? ⁴ 

They ¹  came ²  and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, ³  we are about to die!” So ⁴  he got up and rebuked ⁵  the wind and the raging waves; ⁶  they died down, and it was calm.

The wind ¹  blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” ²
