From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed.

The ¹  wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

He appointed twelve: ¹  To Simon ²  he gave the name Peter;

(Now there were about twelve men in all.) ¹ 

and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

It has ¹  a massive, high wall ²  with twelve gates, ³  with twelve angels at the gates, and the names of the twelve tribes of the nation of Israel ⁴  are written on the gates. ⁵ 

Then one of the twelve, the one named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

When ¹  it was evening, he took his place at the table ²  with the twelve. ³ 

When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

Now ¹  a woman was there who had been suffering from a hemorrhage ²  for twelve years. ³ 

and they picked up the broken pieces and fish that were left over, twelve baskets full.

Then, ¹  when it was evening, he came to the house ²  with the twelve.

When ¹  he was twelve years old, ²  they went up ³  according to custom.

Then ¹  Satan ²  entered Judas, the one called Iscariot, who was one of the twelve. ³ 

Now Thomas (called Didymus), ¹  one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.

And the twelve gates are twelve pearls – each one of the gates is made from just one pearl! The ¹  main street ²  of the city is pure gold, like transparent glass.

When ¹  Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in their towns.
