From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand,

from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand, from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed.

Now ¹  there were five thousand men ²  who ate the bread. ³ 

Not counting women and children, there were about five thousand men who ate.

Not counting children and women, ¹  there were four thousand men who ate. ² 

Or the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you took up?

There were about four thousand ¹  who ate. ²  Then he dismissed them. ³

Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice, ¹  that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years are like a single day.

Then ¹  I looked and heard the voice of many angels in a circle around the throne, as well as the living creatures and the elders. Their ²  number was ten thousand times ten thousand ³  – thousands times thousands –

As ¹  he began settling his accounts, a man who owed ten thousand talents ²  was brought to him.

So those who accepted ¹  his message ²  were baptized, and that day about three thousand people ³  were added. ⁴

(Now about five thousand men ¹  were there.) ²  Then ³  he said to his disciples, “Have ⁴  them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”

Jesus said, “Have ¹  the people sit down.” (Now there was a lot of grass in that place.) ²  So the men ³  sat down, about five thousand in number.
