It makes its tail stiff ¹  like a cedar, the sinews of its thighs are tightly wound.

Egypt will not be able to do a thing, head or tail, shoots and stalk. ¹ 

Then the one making the offering ¹  must present all its fat: the fatty tail, the fat covering the entrails,

So the Lord cut off Israel’s head and tail, both the shoots and stalk ¹  in one day.

The leaders and the highly respected people ¹  are the head, the prophets who teach lies are the tail.

They will lend to you but you will not lend to them; they will become the head and you will become the tail!

But the Lord said to Moses, “Put out your hand and grab it by the tail” – so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand ¹  –

Then the priest ¹  must remove its entrails by cutting off its tail feathers, ²  and throw them ³  to the east side of the altar into the place of fatty ashes,

Then he must present a gift to the Lord from the peace offering sacrifice: He must remove all the fatty tail up to the end of the spine, the fat covering the entrails, and all the fat on the entrails, ¹ 

Then he took the fat (the fatty tail, ¹  all the fat on the entrails, the protruding lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys and their fat ² ) and the right thigh, ³ 

As for the fat parts from the ox and from the ram ¹  (the fatty tail, the fat covering the entrails, ²  the kidneys, and the protruding lobe of the liver),

“You are to take from the ram the fat, the fat tail, the fat that covers the entrails, the lobe ¹  of the liver, the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and the right thigh – for it is the ram for consecration ²  –

The Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always end up at the top and not at the bottom, if you obey his ¹  commandments which I am urging ²  you today to be careful to do.
