I grind them as fine windblown dust; ¹  I beat them underfoot ²  like clay ³  in the streets.

The sluggard ¹  says, “There is a lion in the road! A lion in the streets!” ² 

Look, ambassadors ¹  cry out in the streets; messengers sent to make peace ²  weep bitterly.

He will not cry out or shout; he will not publicize himself in the streets. ¹ 

You have killed many people in this city; you have filled its streets with corpses.’

Gilead is a city full of evildoers; ¹  its streets are stained with bloody footprints! ² 

And the streets of the city will be full of boys and girls playing. ¹ 

He will not quarrel or cry out, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

So go into the main streets and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet.’

Do you see ¹  what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? ² 

Let them fall ¹  slain in the land of Babylonia, ²  mortally wounded in the streets of her cities. ³ 

Tyre built herself a fortification and piled up silver like dust and gold like the mud of the streets!

But whenever ¹  you enter a town ²  and the people ³  do not welcome ⁴  you, go into its streets ⁵  and say,

Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ ¹
