He will say, “Where are their gods, the rock in whom they sought security,

but instead sought the God of his ancestors ¹  and obeyed ²  his commands, unlike the Israelites. ³ 

When he struck them down, ¹  they sought his favor; ²  they turned back and longed for God.

This alone have I discovered: God made humankind upright, but they have sought many evil schemes.

The Teacher sought to find delightful ¹  words, and to write ²  accurately truthful sayings. ³ 

I sought the Lord’s help ¹  and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

When the righteous rejoice, ¹  great is the glory, ²  but when the wicked rise to power, people are sought out. ³ 

Now on the way, at a place where they stopped for the night, ¹  the Lord met Moses and sought to kill him. ² 

May the Lord reward your efforts! ¹  May your acts of kindness be repaid fully ²  by the Lord God of Israel, from whom you have sought protection!” ³ 

Because of their distress, they turned back to the Lord God of Israel. They sought him and he responded to them. ¹ 

In my time of trouble I sought ¹  the Lord. I kept my hand raised in prayer throughout the night. ²  I ³  refused to be comforted.

They will be called, “The Holy People, the Ones Protected ¹  by the Lord.” You will be called, “Sought After, City Not Abandoned.”

They will bear their punishment; ¹  the punishment of the one who sought an oracle will be the same as the punishment of the prophet who gave it ² 

I will bring terrors on you, and you will be no more! Though you are sought after, you will never be found again, declares the sovereign Lord.”

So a decree went out, and the wise men were about ¹  to be executed. They also sought ²  Daniel and his friends so that they could be executed.

While I, Daniel, was watching the vision, I sought to understand it. Now one who appeared to be a man was standing before me.

When Pharaoh heard ¹  about this event, ²  he sought to kill Moses. So Moses fled ³  from Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian, ⁴  and he settled ⁵  by a certain well. ⁶ 

But Moses sought the favor ¹  of the Lord his God and said, “O Lord, why does your anger burn against your people, whom you have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

Later Moses sought diligently for the sin offering male goat, ¹  but it had actually been burnt. ²  So he became angry at Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s remaining sons, saying,

or with any stone large enough that a man could die, without seeing him, and throws it at him, and he dies, even though he was not his enemy nor sought his harm,
