Then ¹  a voice said ²  to him, “Get up, Peter; slaughter ³  and eat!”

I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter; slaughter ¹  and eat!’

You have lived indulgently and luxuriously on the earth. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. ¹ 

But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to be their king, ¹  bring them here and slaughter ²  them ³  in front of me!’”

Now the passage of scripture the man ¹  was reading was this: “He was led like a sheep to slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did ²  not open his mouth.
