(Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.) ¹ 

The children of your elect sister greet you. ¹ 

For whoever does the will of God is ¹  my brother and sister and mother.”

So by your knowledge the weak brother or sister, ¹  for whom Christ died, is destroyed. ² 

If a brother or sister ¹  is poorly clothed and lacks daily food,

But you who eat vegetables only – why do you judge your brother or sister? ¹  And you who eat everything – why do you despise your brother or sister? ²  For we will all stand before the judgment seat ³  of God.

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is ¹  my brother and sister and mother.”

She ¹  had a sister named Mary, who sat ²  at the Lord’s feet ³  and listened to what he said.

Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant ¹  of the church in Cenchrea,

Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the believers ¹  who are with them.

to Apphia ¹  our sister, ²  to Archippus our ³  fellow soldier, and to the church that meets in your house.

Now a certain man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village where Mary and her sister Martha lived. ¹ 

And when she had said this, Martha ¹  went and called her sister Mary, saying privately, ²  “The Teacher is here and is asking for you.” ³ 

Now standing beside Jesus’ cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. ¹ 

But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the ambush, ¹  he came and entered ²  the barracks ³  and told Paul.

Therefore we must not pass judgment on one another, but rather determine never to place an obstacle or a trap before a brother or sister. ¹ 

But if the unbeliever wants a divorce, let it take place. In these circumstances the brother or sister is not bound. ¹  God has called you in peace.

Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” ¹  Martha, the sister of the deceased, ²  replied, “Lord, by this time the body will have a bad smell, ³  because he has been buried ⁴  four days.” ⁵ 

For if your brother or sister ¹  is distressed because of what you eat, ²  you are no longer walking in love. ³  Do not destroy by your food someone for whom Christ died.

For this reason, if food causes my brother or sister to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause one of them ¹  to sin.
